A Grade 1 grammar course on the calendar words that take capital letters and the ones that do not. Days of the week and months of the year are names, so they get capitals. Seasons are not, so they stay small, and that pair of rules sitting side by side is what makes this worth a course of its own.
Students work through all seven days and all twelve months, then meet the words that look like they belong in the same group and do not: spring, summer, winter, today, birthday. The last teaching lesson covers holiday names, including the ones built from two or three words where every part needs a capital.
