A Grade 1 grammar course on describing words that come from the senses. Color and size tell you what something looks like. These words tell you how it tastes, how it smells, what sound it makes, and what it feels like to touch.
Students work through each sense in turn, then meet the words that belong to more than one. “Sharp” describes a taste and also describes a knife. “Soft” describes a blanket and also describes a voice. Sorting those out is the thinking part of this course, and it is also where a student’s writing starts to get more precise.
